The Incremental Treaty Agreement between Tla-o-qui-aht First Nations and B.C. is the first signed between the Province and a First Nation.
The Incremental Treaty Agreement is a four year agreement which provides approximately 63 hectares of land and capacity building and communications funding totalling $600,000 to Tla-o-qui-aht First Nations. These benefits are considered an advance by B.C. of a portion of the provincial share of a future treaty settlement package.

- The Tla-o-qui-aht First Nations joined the BCTC process in 1994 as part of the Nuu‑chah-nulth Tribal Council.
- In July 2008, Tla-o-qui-aht establish their own treaty table.
- Signed B.C’s first-ever Incremental Treaty Agreement on November 13, 2008
- The Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation has advanced into Stage 4 – negotiating an agreement in principle.

Location: On the west coast of central Vancouver Island. Main communities are between Pacific Rim National Park and Tofino and on Meares Island.
Band members: The Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation represents more than 900 members.
